The “International Probono Legal Services Association” (“We” or “the Association”) extends our warmest greetings to everyone!

The Association, a non-profit organization registered in Hong Kong and officially recognized as a tax-exempt charity by the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department, was co-founded in 2018 by myself and Mr. Casey Ho. Our mission is to assist individuals and groups in need to obtain probono legal support, and we are committed to promoting cross-border cooperation among lawyers and the global development of probono legal services. To date, we have handled approximately 6,000 legal consultation cases, covering a wide range of areas including civil, criminal, estate, property, and building management law.

Under the Association, the “National Security Education Center” is also actively promoting national security education in Hong Kong and overseas. Every year, we organize the “National Security Instructor Training Course,” which has trained over 300 certified instructors so far, advancing national security education and fostering public understanding and awareness of the national security legal system.

Following the improvement of the electoral system, the Association was appointed by the Hong Kong SAR Government as the statutory voting body for the legal sector in the Hong Kong Election Committee, participating in the nomination and voting processes for Legislative Council and Chief Executive elections. Additionally, since 2022, we have been granted consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), allowing us to attend UN meetings, speak, and submit written statements or reports. Each year, our representatives attend human rights conferences in Geneva and Vienna, where they deliver important speeches.

Looking to the future, to align with national policies, the Association will further strengthen cooperation with mainland Chinese lawyers, jointly nurturing a new generation of international legal professionals, and injecting fresh momentum into the training of legal talents in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
